When I put on this fun JW Anderson dress yesterday (on sale here!), my 11-year-old son asked me if I was going to a party. I wish! These days I dress up for no other reason than to feel put-together. (Which helps when the world feels like it's falling apart!) As it's been my custom as of late, I'd like to share some stuff that has stopped me in my world-wide-web tracks this past week, starting with the out-and-out glam Sandro suit, below, (top on sale here, bottom on sale here), as worn by The Tot co-founder Nasiba Adilova, below and stylist Charlotte Groeneveld. Of course, the knit top would also be cute under a blazer or an open white button-down. Also crazy cute: Chanel's just-in bow-trimmed Mary-Janes, below! If they're too precious for you, consider what the real Frenchies are sporting this summer: St. Agni's Teva-like sandals in sleek leather (for $150, no less, in b/w pic below). To make my everyday a little chicer, I snapped up a new personalized phone case from Etsy (below). Finally, there is Staud's brilliant new custom embroidered pet sweatshirts! Love! (You submit a pic of your pet and they will whip up its likeness. Available on their bucket bags, too.) Happy Weekend!
round and round

long lines
Thursday, July 30For this back-to-basics time, blue and white stripes are back (again)--and, as always, a surefire win. For this go-around, it's lining up in fresh silhouettes, such as oversized knits (like the Ganni, below), fitted tank tops and billowy blouses. I'd earn my stripes in this Denimist shirt, this La Ligne sweater, this dolman-sleeve t-shirt, this cut-out Parker dress, this Saylor mini, and this wide-neck cashmere J.Crew.
shoulder on
While the weight of the world rests on our collective shoulders right now, it's fitting that the current "it" top shows just how strong (and sexy!) our shoulders are. The one pictured here is by The Line by K, pretty much already sold out everywhere, except here and here. Zimmermann makes an asymmetric version as well as does Ninety Percent (on sale) and Simon Miller.
double dipping
Wednesday, July 29Like everyone else, I'm wearing the same clothes over and over again. Why change!? But instead of sporting the same sweats or leggings repeatedly, I'm relying on more elevated pieces that can be worn multiple ways, so they at least look different! For example, the one-shoulder swimsuit, above, also works as a top with a wrap skirt. The bra, below, moonlights as a bikini top or underneath an oversized cardigan. And I've also been (way) beyond the bedroom in this pretty pajama set by Sleeper (also worn separately). A friend of mine has been wearing this Hunza G on the beach for several days in a row now, and I keep thinking how cute it would also look with pleated khakis or a full skirt. Other outstanding over-timer's: this Johanna Ortiz ruched halter-neck, this scalloped Marysia one-piece, and this beach-to-street Palmacea dress.

space force
Tuesday, July 28Never did I think I'd look to a pair of jeans to figure out where I am in space and time. But such is life on the Coronacoaster, and it now appears as if I'm rolling into a new longer/wider denim silhouette loop (inspo above). Let's call this next, unchartered stage: August! As fate would have it, Shopbop is offering huge discounts on this new-season, must-have style (here, here, and here) along with, oh, about 1,000 other things you might need/want for life's future up's and down's, such as this Ganni stripe cotton dress, this floral Rixo, this Staud chain-handle bag, these Kaanas sandals, and this Madewell boxy tee. Shop it all here!
support group
Monday, July 27Jumping on the #womensupportingwomen empowerment movement here and sharing two female-founded brands I discovered this weekend, thanks to my best girl friends. These same friends will tell you I wear my heart on my sleeve--and on my neck, see above--and thus turned me on to jewelry designer Lisa Statt, who designs the cutest necklaces using semi precious stones, African beads, and vintage acrylic hearts from the '70s and sells her wares at Poppy (which, FYI, is now carrying a small but stunning selection of women's clothing!). They come in a rainbow of joyful colors and, put simply, they make me happy. Something else making me smile is my newfound glow c/o Saie's Dew Balm in Rosy Gold. It's a seriously next-level, game-changing highlighter--it soothes my skin with feel-good moisturizers and illuminators (Hyaluronic Acid and Marshmallow Root) and makes me look way younger and smarter for knowing about it! Thank you, friends! P.S. My pretty lariat necklace is by Thatch, another female-founded line!

friday feels
Thursday, July 23The only reason I know it's Friday is because I have a week's load of screenshots lingering on my desktop--i.e., surplus stylish inspo I meant to share with you with you here but did not get to. To begin with, I just discovered @elborn_doris, the Korean style influencer and clothing designer based in Paris, above and below, and I am obsessed with her simple yet sleek style, along with her penchant for oversize button-downs and pleated khakis (that look anything but preppy or fusty.) Though it seems incongruous, the all-American Everlane (third pic) makes emulating her elegance a cinch with its classic closet staples, such as this and this. Speaking of elegance, I'm also loving And Other Stories embroidered collared (Oscar de la Renta-like) blouse (second to last pic!), which, I promise you, will sell out in a flash! Finally, I've found the pretty berry lipstick, last image, is a balm for at-home pity parties!
tiers of joy
Super stylish Swedes are maxing out summer in Malene Birger's tiered dress--a head-to-toe, throw-on-and-go (or stay) stunner. Other similar options: this Staud (with its shorter length and balloon-sleeves), this lightweight Amanda Uprichard, this eyelet H&M, and this floral Free People.
air france
Since I can't actually travel to the South of France this summer, I'm thinking the next best thing would be to look like I am languishing somewhere (anywhere!) on the Cote d'Azur. One budget-friendly flight there comes via Sezane, the Paris-based label, famous for its Gallic-spirited goodies. My current and possibly all-time favorites include the $70 bow-tie blouse, above, the unerringly chic high-waist black trousers, below, the gorgeous floral dress, the ruffled polka dot top (like it was snapped up at Marche Aux Puce), and the animal-print shirt. Bon Voyage here!
statement suits
Tuesday, July 21A not-your-average summer warrants a not-your average-swimsuit. Am I right?? At the very least, it's still fun to check out this season's hottest new suits, even from a distance. The splash-making La Perla, above, mixes classic gingham with unexpected cut-outs, while the Oseree, below, combines glimmer and glam (I also like this slightly more subdued iteration.) I wouldn't mind being wrapped up in Matteau's bikini, below, or getting ruffled up in this Eberjey. Without a doubt, now's the time to stock up (hello, endless summer) as many suits are on super sale over at Revolve (this and this, both cute as tops with a skirt), Moda Operandi (this and this, pictured on my sis in the last pic!), and Shopbop (this, this and this).

world tour
Monday, July 20This past weekend, I got to see things far and wide from the Comet Neospace, with binoculars on my rooftop, to fellow fashionistas I follow on Instagram, who, in spite of our upside-down world, continue to light up the style universe. This silver lining flickers in Free People's sweater set, above, Lou Lou Studio's cashmere sweater, immediately below, Lee Matthew's decadent maxi (second pic down, on sale) and Arket's flowy satin skirt (last pic). A whimsical camp shirt over a sexy swimsuit also goes a long way as does an excellent pair of denim bermuda shorts. But, if you really want to go for it, there's the end-all-be-all lace embellished Gucci, last pic!
in the trenches
Friday, July 17One thing I can certainly count on this fall is a lightweight, oversized trench in my wardrobe. Its job: To finish an outfit, fend off the chill, and make "getting dressed" even easier. (P.S. This trend has strong legs, headlining the Resort 2021 collections of Gucci, Victoria Beckham and Louis Vuitton.) The selfie master and Irish mother of two @smythisters, pictured here, shows how it's done right this minute with inexpensive coats, culled from High Street stores: this Weekday (immediately below), this Asos, this Arket (above), this Monki, this H&M, and this on-sale Herno.
