My sis hosted Thanksgiving yesterday, chock full of successes (the most divine homemade blueberry pie baked by my 10-year-old niece) and some mishaps (said blueberry pie dropped face-down in the oven). There was also my ornery 85-year-old aunt who refused to talk to anyone and a crippling shortage of chicken stock for the gravy. But all of that did not put a dent in the table's upbeat drama: family game-playing (we love Psyche!), bouquets of seasonal blooms picked by our kids, along with cheery linens by my dear friend JJ Martin's line La Double J (above). Which, lucky duck, is on sale today, this Black Friday, at Shopbop! I stocked up for more memory-making occasions in the future--and plan to make even more great memories with these other steals and holiday gifts from Shopbop (this, this and this), Nordstrom (look cute burning off the stuffing with this yes and this yes!), CB2 (this! this! this!), Net-A-Porter (love!), Target (one, two and three for the kiddos!), Neiman Marcus and Anthropologie. Have a happy long holiday weekend!

gobble, gobble
Wednesday, November 27Let's take a minute away from turkey brining and pumpkin pie-ing and bring our attention to other delicacies, shall we? Namely this Chloe clutch, now 40% and minus the tryptophan available at Nordstrom's just-launched Cyber Sale (no sharp elbows here, folks). Other tempting pre-feast treats: this statement Kenzo sweater, this amazing Burberry cashmere blanket (under $300!), this Johanna Ortiz animal-print stunner, this Thread and Supply fleece pullover, and this Sam Edelman everyday-cool booties. Feast for yourself here.
more is more
Tuesday, November 26Everyone in my house has been looking forward to this day for weeks now, for it's the Gobbler Bowl at my kids' school, the annual and always exciting pre-turkey flag football game (that steals students away from normal morning class time.) It's also the day when Shopbop preempts Black Friday with its epic, can't-miss buy more/save more sale (i.e., 25-75% off!), in which I gobble up gifts for all my peeps (and, okay, a few for myself) and also steal away from my normal morning mundane routine. Let's start with the gorgeous Ulla Johnson statement knit, above, and the cute Isabel Marant Etoile pullover, below. (Yes, those would be for me!) For my BFF's, I'm eyeing this chic lucite Backgammon set, this Octaevo Janus ceramic tray, this outfit-making Cult Gaia clutch, this Cupcakes and Cashmere woven jacket, and this coffee-table-punctuating Assouline book on Capri (my favorite place!). Kick off your holiday shopping, for reals, here!
holiday travel
Monday, November 25If you're planning to travel this Thanksgiving, along with fifty-five million others, get ready for what's expected to be the second busiest travel day in over a decade. And keep it simple. Take a travel cue from Paris-based Leia Sfez, above, who wears her New Balance running sneakers on the road, leaving more room in her carry-on for more compelling cuteness. Now that normcore sneakers are all the rage, I looked into other options offering the work/werk balance and singled out these by Nike, Asics and Nike (again/below).

the prequel
Friday, November 22Last I checked, Christmas comes after Thanksgiving, but already I'm seeing evergreen and elves everywhere, plus turkey, tinsel and trimmings. In the spirit of getting ahead of the game, I bring pre-Black Friday sales tidings to you and your kin! Specifically, Shopbop's half-off sale, where I snapped up the greatest warm-weather pieces for future (as of yet unplanned) tropical trips, including the ethereal Zimmermann, above. There's also epic Ulla Johnson up for grabs, both wintry (this, this and this) and spring-y (this and this). Also pounce-worthy/gift-able: these $70 leopard-print Sam Edelman loafers, this Isabel Marant Etoile pullover (I also want these sneakers badly!), this Ganni statement sweater, and this Brinker & Eliza spot-on gold link coin necklace. Ready, set, start your holiday shopping here!
lela rose
Thursday, November 21While my twin sister and I have fought over lots of things throughout our lives--like who got more bacon at breakfast to first dibs on our first crush, who, BTW, didn't want to date either of us!--it now takes something pretty major for us to go head to head. The other day, that something major was a pretty Lela Rose dress. It was major in its flattering fit and show-stopping splendor. Seriously, phenomenal! Because we were in front of other people, we bickered about it politely at first, both of us (really, really) wanting it. We did agree it made sense to each choose a different Lela Rose dress and share--two for one, if you will--but... no. Finally, I stooped to pointing out that I saw it first on the rack and, so, fair and square, it should be mine. Thankfully, she conceded. (It seems those six minutes of seniority are still serving me well!) Following in Coco's good-will footsteps, I am now going to share this dress and other Lela Rose favorites, with you too, specifically her new Spring 2020 collection, replete with major prettiness, enough to go all around, in fact. They're more than perfect for parties, but to gloat maybe just a little, I'll be wearing mine simply to hang out with my sis, too.
leather weather
For me, the daily recurring question is: jeans or a dress? Lately, though, I've been adding another option to the query: Leather pants. Popular with my peeps, leather pants (faux, vegan, you name it!) effect luxe but laid back. They're cut more like trousers or even jeans--but definitely not tight leggings. If you're interested, Net-A-Porter has a slew of them on sale today, including the vegan leather belted Nanushka pair, above! Plus: tons of stunners to go with including this Acne Studios whip-stitched turtleneck (which you'll be seeing me in from now on!), these everyday-cool Isabel Marant black ankle boots, and this Ulla Johnson ruffle-trimmed blouse. Shop the just-launched, generously-stocked sale (at up to 50% off!) here.

le ski
Tuesday, November 19When the Getty Fire forced us to evacuate our home a few weeks ago, my husband packed up the car with, of course, important papers and photos, but also, wait for it... his ski boots! That's how meaningful skiing is to my family! My sons are equally dedicated, and with a ski trip on the books, I've rounded up the best of this season's slope style and thought I'd share. One thing I should point out: this year's assortment stands out from the past with non-ski (read: unexpected) brands offering pieces that swish equally well on and off the blue runs, such as Free People, above, and Madewell, below. Yes, they may be less technical, but they peak, style-wise. A few of my favorites include these super-flattering Perfect Moment flare pants, this Holden bib, these statement We Norwegians wool leggings, this J.Crew fleece bomber jacket, this I Love Mr. Mittens turtleneck (40% off!), and this H&M zip-up pullover ($34!--this chunkier one also amazing).
shawl in
Monday, November 18Winter essentials--hats, gloves, scarves, and whatnot--are just that. Essential. But, for me, they are more than that: they are salt to a wound. Yes, it's cold outside but it's so cold I have to insulate every inch of my body. All of which is to say these are not things I generally get excited about buying--unless they go the extra freezing mile and look super cute. Like, say, the fringed Mango shawl, above, at home over a sweater or out in the elements atop a wool coat. Or the colorful Acne Studios poncho/jacket, below, that will perk up any drab winter outfit (this Rachel Comey is similar). These accessories actually make me excited about the cold. Now I'm like, bring it on! Other stylish (read: atypical) frost fighters: this faux fur leopard print Apparis scarf, this Eugenia Kim faux fur snood, this Joseph draped turtleneck wrap, these H&M smartphone gloves, this plush Jocelyn bandana, and these Ganni extra-long striped gloves.

front tuck
Thursday, November 14A friend of mine is heading to Copenhagen this afternoon for four days, prepped with a long list of Danish design to-do's, prayers to get into Noma, and a carry-on. Her packing mandate: no bulk! To keep the cold at bay, she packed layer-friendly, lighter-weight knits, knowing that all she has to do to look stylish throughout is...tuck in her sweater! These pics prove how this styling trick actually does a lot to effect a more polished, figure-flattering look. Sweaters I suggested she take (and also wear back at home) include this And Other Stories outfit-maker (or this one), this COS zip-up jumper, this Jonathan Simkhai braided cotton turtleneck, this scalloped-striped Madewell (on sale*!), and this C/Meo Collective ball-knit sweater. P.S. Tons of cold-weather cuties just hit the sale racks (through 11/17!) over at Nordstrom (like this, this and this). Take a look here.
mother of pearl
Wednesday, November 13I like the all the pearls popping up on this winter's knits. In fact, I have my eye on more than one version--no surprise there, right?! Take a look at these by And Other Stories, H&M, Co (re-sale!), Chanel (re-sale!), Alexander Wang and 3.1 Phillip Lim and tell me which one you love best!

essentially yours
Tuesday, November 12Who doesn't need another pair of perfect jeans in their life? Particularly if they boast the right-now, high-waist, leg-lengthening cut--and are on sale?! I do! I've been coveting these AGOLDE jeans, above, for a while now, and due to Shopbop's just-launched sale, I'm now yearning for additional stylish winter wearables like these sleek black Stuart Weitzman boots to go with my perfect jeans (or perhaps these knee-high Loeffler Randall suede boots?), the below faux fur coat by Alexa Chung, this crazy cute Love Shack Fancy fair isle cardigan, this J.O.A. leopard-print fleece, this Lioness double-breasted blazer, this Saloni super flattering, super gorgeous party dress and these Re/Done cargo pants that will work in my wardrobe forever. Score more here!

party people
Monday, November 11This Monday morning has me in Saturday-night-party mode, having just nabbed the above fete-fab Self-Portrait dress at Net-A-Porter's first-ever Friends and Family Sale. The unprecedented 25% discount is a generous (and preemptive!) pre-Thanksgiving treat, tempting me to gobble up other desirables like this stunning Mes Demoisellles velvet gown, this sparkly Rixo dress, this fringed Nanushka coat, these cropped straight-leg Re/Done jeans, these Gianvito Rossi ankle boots, this Chan Luu multi-stone necklace, and these Adidas Originals everyday-chic sneakers. Eat it all up for yourself here!
well red
Friday, November 8It was nearly 8PM when my friend and I sat down for dinner last night. She looked fresh and vibrant, as if she had been napping all afternoon. Far from it, she had been working and on her feet since 7 in the morning. And she was still in her office clothes (which, for the record, were eminently stylish, particularly because of this Kule cardigan she had on). "How do you you look so radiant after such a long day?" I asked, incredulously. She promptly handed over a lipstick tube, given to her at 5PM by her work-around-the-clock, super-successful, beauty-tricks-up-her-sleeve best friend. The lipstick was Armie 33 by Tom Ford Beauty, a deep red matte shade that is said to make you look picture perfect, with blue undertones to make teeth look whiter. I swear, it did all that and then some! And now it will be my hard-working secret!

moda mia
In my calendar, this is the time of year--right before the holiday season kicks into full gear--when we justifiably self-gift! We take advantage of the pre-Thanksgiving sales and the discounts and buy things we've had our eye on for weeks and maybe once we receive these treats, we wrap them up to put under the tree eventually. Or not. So, let's take a look at Moda Operandi's private sale for starters, shall we? Specifically gifts that will keep on giving to you for years on end, such the Ulla Johnson beauty, above, or these perfect Slverlake high-rise straight-leg jeans, this party-ready Alexis shoulder-tie dress, this Madeline Thompson belted cardigan (soon to be under my tree!), and this gooooorgeous Dolce & Gabanna forever-chic embellished clutch! See all for yourself here!
smarty pants
Thursday, November 7And just like that it feels like winter in LA. Time for my cold-weather pants to shine! They're statement-making, for sure, and they have just right heft and look-twice details. Sweaters and simple button-down blouses are their best friends--and together they crank up my everyday style several notches. I'm especially excited for these by Nanushka (immediately below), J.Crew (the gold and the snakeskin), croc-look Attico, above, Cynthia Rowley, last pic, and Ronny Kobo.
fur example
Le faux fur will fly again this season, but this time around the coats are longer and more elegant looking (and a bit old school, too!). J.Crew just came out with an ah-mazing version of the tiger-print coat, above--and it's currently 40% off! Also on sale is the Acne Studios faux fur-trimmed boucle stunner in the last image. (The shearling Coach, immediately below, is beautiful but not on sale!) Other plush options include these by Mango, Stand Studio, H&M, and French Connection.
head over heels
Wednesday, November 6I'm so excited to host a cooking class for friends later this month focused on holiday cooking hacks with Thea Baumann, chef/former Goop food editor and co-author of Gwyneth Paltrow's It's All Easy. (Think filling side dishes like roasted winter squash with gremolata--yum!) For holiday dressing hacks, I'm looking to Leandra Cohen, above, who cleverly spruces up jeans and a blouse with exuberantly-festive shoes. Hello, sparkles! Any of these by Badgley Mishka (similar to above), Schutz, Sam Edelman, Giuseppe Zanotti, Miu Miu, Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin will do the trick!
