basic instinct

$76, topshop.com

When I came across this studded denim blouse a few days ago, my quick buy-it-now instinct kicked in. And then when I saw my good (and always-chic) friend at lunch yesterday, wearing a studded Opening Ceremony denim dress, very similar in spirit, I knew my instinct was dead on. I'll be wearing this one with...

1. Topshop studded denim blouse, $76, topshop.com
2. Rebecca Minkoff sunglasses, $150, shopbop.com
3. Proenza Schouler PS1 suede pouch, $1225, proenzaschouler.com
4. Jimmy Choo woven sandal, $895, nordstrom.com
5. Altuzurra perforated leather and cotton skirt, $1230, netaporter.com

What is your take on cross-body bags? Should you invest, can you get away with a cheapy one that looks cool?? I really can't decide. I feel like unlike the purse book bag trend(which I did not care for), cross-body bags have staying power. Thoughts? What are some of your favorites? Thanks.

I love a cross-body bag. I love the ease of slinging it across my torso and having my hands free. I don't think you need to spend a bundle, but I do think the cross-body bag trend will endure, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to invest in a good one. I love the Proenza Schouler (high end) but also Clare Vivier's messenger bags. They both rock.

Note that the "Proenza" and "Clare" text above are both links. Need to fix the formatting on that but it's late and I am out of gas! Hope that helps.
