One minute it was 74 degrees and everyone in Dimes Square looked as if they had collectively agreed to dress for an Aperol spritz; twenty minutes later, the temperature dropped to 55 and suddenly the only people who seemed emotionally prepared were the women who never stopped carrying cashmere. That was me, fortunately (see below)! I also wore a just-purchased pleated Mango skirt and a button-down borrowed from my brother-in-law (this is similar—and cuter!). Still, none of it was as difficult as getting back to Los Angeles (my return flight was delayed 11 hours!) Thankfully, I had a carry-on full of trusty pieces including these Joe’s Jeans (pictured below that are delayed American Airlines- comfortable), these Lola Cruz toe-ring sandals (set to be on repeat this summer), high-waist Paige, these jeans in the most excellent ecru (my sis tried to steal them!), a leopard-print Apparis windbreaker (so great for layering), my Few Moda pinstriped blazer, this Aligne denim dickie (also spring-ready!), and my new diamond Eriness pinkie ring (clearly, I need to add this to my everyday routine). I wanted to buy the Mango trench (that reads Celine below) when the temperature plummeted but I didn’t have the room to haul back.
Who says you need a full holiday weekend to recharge? I just pulled off the ultimate one-night getaway to Costa Palmas—and somehow squeezed a whole vacation’s worth of vibes into 24 golden hours (and one very edited carry-on suitcase). As soon as I arrived, I made a quick switch from plane mode (Amo tank, Joe's Jeans, above) to beach club-ready in a breezy Zara dress and Ancient Greek Sandals, below, (yes, I changed in the spa because priorities). From there? Read on...
Sun-soaked lounging in a beaded bikini, heart necklace, linen shirt (on sale today!), and bag.
Golden hour shopping in a and mini skirt (inspired by ). Scored the beaded choker for $150 at the hotel boutique!
An alfresco dinner at Mozza, cooked by Nancy Silverton herself, decked out in , Chanel sandals, an Hermes clutch and my stay-on baubles.
Fish tacos and heaps of guacamole on the golf course in a , , and .
Back in LA... for now!
Packing for a 48-hour work trip to Cabo had me staring into my carry-on like it was a crystal ball. Was I about to emerge as a breezy, lace-draped romantic or the sleek, minimalist getaway girl with a line-up full of neutrals and black one-pieces? One part of me wanted to pack this va-va-voom cut-out crochet dress (below) but then the other craved simplicity (head-to-toe Cos). Plot twist: I packed both "girls." Proof? The multiple bags I lugged on to the plane--a mix of Chloe rattan, rope-trimmed Alemais, quirky Prada prints, and basic Madewell. My footwear followed suit: modern blue J.Crew jellies, plus ecru Rails jeans and noise-canceling Bose headphones for one personality, bohemian Beek toe-ring sandals (last pic) for the other. I also packed this, this, this, this and this. (Far too much but both girls love options!) Thankfully, my lip gloss had no identity crisis. ’s new lip glosses have a shade for every alter ego—whether I'm keeping it subtle in a or going full heatwave with a . Took them both out last night! Style conflicted? Maybe. But at least my lips are consistent.
It's not easy to impress the have-it-all crowd in Palm Beach, where opulence is the norm and elegance a given— yet even the most discerning locals paused to admire my sheer lace Doen skirt and blouse on Wednesday night. What also turned heads: The Great's studded dress, my Chloe jacket, my white TWP blazer (bananas-chic!), ASTR The Label bustier dress and new (Hermes-looking) Monday Swimwear bikini, all below. Here's what I'd like to work for my next twirl around Worth Avenue: the lace-trimmed Zara mini and sheer skirt, the leopard print H&M maxi, this Rachel Comey strapless eyelet, dress, this flowy Kallmeyer skirt, these tasseled Taller Marmo pants, and this jersey Quince dress.
First Substack of the year is out, and it's all about embracing life's real luxuries--slow mornings, healthy choices, "boring days," traveling, and meaningful conversations. Read how I recently indulged myself--and looked cute in the process (La Double J, Maison Mayle, Kiki Vargas, Thatch Jewelry, Adina Reyter)!
While I was busy exploring Puglia in bubble(!) mini skirts, above, and other short, 95-degree-proof dresses, below, my twin sister, working in Stockholm, kept pinging me with pictures of fall jackets she wanted to buy. While I am usually quick to fire back my opinion, it was hard to imagine wearing any of the options she presented, given how hot I was. But now that I'm back in LA, I can wrap my head around wool and layers again. (Quick tangent: if you have any inclination to jump on the bubble bandwagon, I recommend this and this. My Chloe belt also came in handy when the billow was too bubbly!) Judge for yourself her picks below by Pixie Market, Cos, and 3.1 Phillip Lim--all approved by me--plus more by Blank NYC, Anine Bing, and Prada.
Spaghetti-ing and swimming my way around the boot of Italy has required a few special dresses that can weather the winds blowing in from Africa and copious amounts of sea salt--in equal measure! Above, I am wearing an oldie but goodie from Mango, and, below, a lace J.Crew and beaded and crochet newbie from Celia B. What I wish was also in the arsenal: this Johanna Ortiz, Farm Rio, Agua Bendita, and this Lisa Marie Fernandez. Ciao ciao!
Only fitting that the first thing I throw on upon touchdown in Lake Como is a ME + EM one-shoulder dress: the fit is fantastic, the vibe suitably posh, and (shhh, don’t tell anyone!), stretchy-easy comfortable. I’m planning to stock up on a few more do-it-all’s, thinking this, this, this this and this! You can be sure to see them on me very soon. Until then, Ciao!
I found a stairway to heaven! It's located in Corsica, France, thirty minutes outside the bustling port town of Ajaccio, and it connects the sublime green-blue water of the Med with a rustic two-story brick house that I called home last week! At the bottom of this breathtaking staircase, I hopped on a boat that whisked me up north to the dramatic red ochre cliffs of Calanques de Piana, a Unesco World Heritage site, and its surrounding beachside restaurants (Le Casabianca, A Piaghja) as well as to the south for the most incredible snorkeling and moules-frites-ing (Chez Frances)! See all the highlights--and how I styled my way through with just a carry-on--below.
The Mediterranean Sea's 82-degree temperature and brilliant shades of aqua, teal and sapphire blue (all thanks to its high salt concentration) had me swimming oh-so-buoyantly and rotating bikinis from dawn till dusk. I brought these new suits from , , and !
Not only did I sport swimsuits that stood up to all-day sunning and swimming, but also standout jewelry. I'm wearing necklaces, earrings and charms from , and .
I staunchly believe that there's no better lunch spot than one you have to boat to! Every day had me late-lunching on grilled shrimp, langoustine, razor clams, crisp salads and french fries in a sandy seaside spot. My favorite: the open-air A Piaghja in Calvi, above, complete with epic ocean views and an outdoor ping pong table. Next time I go I want to try Maora in Bonifacio, La Casadelmar in Ponte Vecchio, and La Table de la Plage in Domaine de Murtoli.
Truth be told, I didn't wear much in Corsica--just a smattering of swimsuits, lightweight button-downs and throw-on-and-go dresses! Still, I packed plenty of options to choose from including , , and . Plus, lots of sheer lace dresses from , including the two newbies immediately below.
The MVP of my Corsica wardrobe? A colorful sarong, pictured above, that pulled off double duty daily as a cover-up and towel. Sadly, it's back-ordered but and will do the same, heavy-lifting trick! Coming in close second: an oversized white button-down by thrown over suits and sheer dresses. I also love this ! Critical to my holiday beauty routine was this newly-discovered post-swim conditioning/revitalizing hair spray from , which from now on I will never go island-hopping without!
Every day in Corsica kicked off with a scenic 60-minute bike ride that included a pitstop at a local boulangerie serving up the most divine, out-of-the-oven croissants. Along the way, there were ubiquitous blossoms of pink, white and purple oleander. It was as if the bushes were exploding with fireworks of flowers!
One day we boated up one and half hours to Calanques de Piana, a crystal clear, pool-like inlet accessible through towering narrow rock arches that required expert skippering. Thankfully, we had a skillful boat captain, who navigated the strong currents around the steep cliffs and steered us into small luminescent caves. He dropped anchor to let us jump in and scale the rocks! The awe-inspiring, surreal-like setting reminded me of Land of the Lost or a digitally- enhanced movie scene--truly stupendous. It was beyond cool!
I'll end my vacation chronicle here, descending the heavenly staircase (in a crochet !) as I'm now back in L.A. reality--yet already plotting to ascend, step by step again one day soon! Check out my for lots more fun snaps.
I soaked up the sun and then some in London last week! My carry-on full of clothes saw me through the most delicious lunches at Barrfina (the mojama!) and The Pelican (the chips!) and sublime dinners at The Twenty Two (the hottest spot in town) and Mark's Club (intimately chic), plus a jaunt to Daylesford and The Royal Ascot (in the Royal Enclosure, no less!). What did I pack? A high concentration of day-to-night Maison Mayle, including the print skirt and lace blouse, above. I also brought this Ferragamo denim dress, this sequin Frankie Shop, this Hill House Home and this Pixie Market stunner. And I capped it all off with the below H&M dress and Arket denim jacket for my last dinner out at Dinings SW3 (seriously yummy Izayaka style fusion cuisine and sushi).
