If there's ever a night to show some leg, it's tonight. Happy New Year! But these women, pictured here, prove that any old day warrants a sexy slit skirt. Leila Yavari, above, perfectly executes Preen's zipper-trimmed skirt (30% off here!), which cleverly features adjustable front slits. (You can find a more spring-friendly version of this skirt here.) Meanwhile, Netaporter's fashion director Holli Rogers (below) goes for it in an Esteban Cortazar skirt, and expertly tempers its seductive lines with a Chinti and Parker oversize sweater (that's now 30% off). Other slit skirts that are catching my eye: this daring one from Versus, this more demure one from Nameless, and this classic black L'Agence (60% off).

Sales mania continues. My twin sister's white tweed Isabel Marant coat, above, is among the many covetables marked down by a whopping 60% at Barneys. (I'll have you know that when she tried it on at the store in New York, she unwittingly prompted two other women to buy one for themselves!) Also up for grabs: my new favorite Fendi studded heels in beige suede; this gorgeous, can't-wait-for-spring-to-wear-it Stella McCartney dress, and this head-turning O'2nd fur trimmed coat. Over at Neiman Marcus, there are loads of New Years Eve-ready dresses on sale, such as this Burberry sheath dress (55% off), this Milly leather LBD (60% off) and this gleaming Michael Kors stunner (40% off). If you're in the market for chic wardrobe staples, such as Helmet Lang suede leggings (40% off), a MSGM's boucle jacket (40%), and Alexander Wang classic tees (30% off), head to My Theresa. If I find more goodies, I will share them over the weekend. TGIF!
The beauty of this cross-body bag is in the detailing: the double top-handle, the tasseled zippers, the easy-to-access front pockets and the no-mess, throw-it-around nylon.

Speaking of sales, shoes and spring, Nordstrom has a robust assortment of next season-ready shoes at ridiculously good prices. I'm talking this chic pair of $24 gold-accented leopard print sandals, these statement-y open-toe Prada heels that are similar to the ones pictured, above, at 55% off (I also found the exact same shoe in brown on sale at Bergdorf Goodman), and these amazing versatile Charles David t-strap sandals for $113. Meanwhile, Shopbop's post-Christmas sale features everything I could possibly want to wear now from this super cute Lovers + Friends color-blocked coat (30% off) to these knee-high House of Harlow boots (30% off) to this cubicle-to-cocktails Club Monaco top. At Netaporter, the sale prices are about as low as they'll go, and the biggest temptations include this pristine Philosophy dress (70% off!), this New Years Eve-perfect LBD by Alexander Wang (70% off!) and this winter-to-spring Clu striped sweater (60% off).
Happy, happy! I hope you're enjoying (er, surviving) the holidays. While a part of me is a bit shopped out, the other half is seduced by the Post-Christmas sales, particularly by spring-friendly items, such as these blingy Nine West sandals that are now 50% off. I see myself enjoying the warm temps in them along with this

We've all seen a million variations of the beloved white fisherman sweater. But French chicster Lou Doillon shows us the coolness of the iconic knit in refreshingly different red. (Hers is by Free People, which is sold out everywhere but here.) I also like this one by Warehouse or this iteration by J.Crew (30% off!).
For me, this knit sweater would be as indispensable as my favorite white t-shirt. The flared sleeves make it even better.

I am so proud of my friend Mary Alice Haney, who launched her debut dress collection on Net-A-Porter today. Starting a business is no small task, especially in the clothing biz, but she is making it happen. The dramatic red dress, above, is my favorite. I envision myself wearing it at one of Mary Alice's signature over-the-top destination parties (she had her last big birthday soiree in Capri!) or for fun girls nights out in LA (like below), which are, thankfully, frequent. All of her evening-ready dresses perfectly reflect the out-and-out glam star that she is, along with her exuberance for living large (hence the high-end prices). Check out the collection here.
Since getting through the holidays sometimes feels like it takes a superhero effort, I think this cape, which is super and chic, may fit the bill.

Anyone who reads this blog knows that I have soft spot for sequins. They work for me day and night--and especially around the holidays. So, when I came across this picture of this striking reversible gold and silver sequin top yesterday, I set out to source it and ultimately discovered that it's sold out in most sizes (namely mine!). Adding insult to injury, it was a very reasonable $72! Drats. Now I am on a mission to find a similar high-octane top and have so far found this Whistles navy stunner, this Veronica Beard tuxedo-inspired peplum top, this embellished Biyan blouse, and this J.Crew matte sequin tee (60% off with code!). I love how they all impart high-glam with little effort!

A couple of years ago my twin sister introduced me to Natalie Martin, prefacing our meeting with, "You are going to love her." Natalie is one of those women who always looks like she just came back from a spa somewhere in the tropics (see below). She has this opulent Bain de Soleil glow (with barely a stitch of makeup) and an effortlessly glamorous style, due in part to her namesake line of breezy kaftans, flowy dresses and embroidered tops, all made by hand in Bali. Her latest collection--which includes a long silk block-printed dress named after me!--makes me want to abandon my snowbound holiday plans for a deserted beach south of the equator. And on that fantasy vacation I'd also take this halter maxi dress, this floral print dress and this wrap dress! Trust me, you are going to love Natalie and her line, too.
This evening-ready jumpsuit is the definition of one-step dressing. Genius!

Lately, I've had more glasses of eggnog and gingerbread cookies than I care to count but the holiday festivities have also presented some--surprise, surprise!--stylish treats. A publicist friend of mine recently staged a Christmas party that felt more like Halloween, as guests were given a sleek and rather large leather tote bag, courtesy of Everlane (see above), and ordered to stuff it with all sorts of goodies, ranging from a Mara Hoffman romper to a Parker sequin blouse to a pair of James Jeans (in the perfect charcoal wash). Joy! And then our annual Yankee Swap was flush with desirables from a Clare Vivier clutch to a Jennifer Fisher bracelet to next season Lena Wald diamond sliver earrings (I want!). I walked away with a seriously cute Sydney Evan necklace. My holiday partying, however, did involve a sour moment or two, most notably the other night when I committed one of the ultimate party fouls: I accidentally spilled a glass of red wine (or, um, two) all over someone. It was my first glass of wine of the night and it was perched on a table in front of me next to my sister's full glass. I was talking to a friend's husband, probably gesticulating more than necessary, when I knocked both glasses over, dousing a woman, an innocent bystander with her back to the table. Fortunately, she was wearing all black. But she was sopping wet. I remember looking at my twin sister and seeing the panic/sympathy in her eyes. She handed me a stack of paper cocktail napkins and I proceeded to pat down this woman from head to toe, concentrating, for some reason, on her butt. (I was nervous!) I kept apologizing, telling her I'd take care of the dry cleaning bill, and she repeated over and over again that she was okay. Finally, her husband interceded and stood between me and this woman and told me that his wife was fine. Then they literally ran away from me and off into the dark of the night. Without missing a beat, my friend's husband, bless his heart, tried to resuscitate our conversation, but it was... awkward would be an understatement. I am still so mortified, but hoping the next few soirees go a little better and a lot drier!

I used to have the perfect pair of oxfords: not too masculine, super comfortable and thoroughly versatile. Hence, they were worn to death and ultimately rendered unwearable. These pictures make me want a replacement ASAP--such as this patent leather Lanvin (40% off!); this slip-on J.Crew; this navy one from The Gap, and this buckled Pour La Victoire (50% off!). All seriously good ones--eek!
Still on the holiday party circuit--and flitting around on fumes. However, wearing this embellished statement top could easily recharge my batteries.

Dispatched by Moda Operandi founder Lauren Santo Domingo last week, this instagram prompted me to run out and buy The Goldfinch, the latest book from Donna Tartt. Because I love nothing better than a book you can't put down! Now everyone I know is talking about it. I am waiting till Christmas break to dive in. So excited!
We bought the Christmas tree, got the lights up, and the wreath hung. Now I just need some of this twinkle, twinkle!

I recently had dinner with Hannah Bronfman, a New York-based DJ (and fixture at the most fashionable parties), record label owner, workout buff, aspiring chef, and all-around high achiever, who recently launched Beautified, an app that allows New Yorkers and Angelenos to book last-minute beauty appointments such as pedicures, blowouts, and massages at the best salons. Despite her frenetic schedule, Hannah, herself, consistently maintains the coolest and most cutting-edge manicures, which typically include emojis, pop art and ahead-of-the-curve colors. Since I am the opposite of manicure-savvy, I asked her to share her current favorite nail polishes. Herewith, her top ten:

As soon as our plane touched down at JFK last week, my twin sister was on a mission to buy a new pair of loafers. No ordinary loafers, of course. They would be masculine in nature, with a high vamp, but streamlined and sleek, so as not to be clonky. She was hoping for the Celine variety (see above), as one of her uber stylist friends has a pair and declared them "the new shoe"--or, at least a fresh alternative to the smoking slipper and ballet flat. On Day 2 of our New York trip, we popped into Isabel Marant, where she scored a pair of pony hair buckle-trimmed loafers on sale. She wore them out the door, and is more obsessed with them than ever. Of course, now I am too. So, I did some digging around and found some options, including a suede Isabel Marant version (30% off!) and a patent leather Isabel Marant one (40% off), along with this linkchain-accented Tory Burch, this Sigerson Morrison (20% off), and this (very Celine-inspired) Repetto.

I spent the weekend with my twin sister in New York. No husbands. No kids. Just us. Just like old times. We fell into our old habits: sleeping together in the same room, running side by side along the Hudson River, and walking arm in arm through the streets of Soho. And, like typical sisters, especially those who are six minutes apart in age, we argued. The biggest feud was precipitated by the $68 sequin Endless Rose top, above. There was only one at Pixie Market on the Lower East Side, and the issue was who would get it. We finally struck a deal: I get to wear it first, then she could have it, and I could borrow on demand. (She basically argued that I have more clothes than her, which is true, so she deserved it). Turns out that I'll triumph after all as the top is now available on Shopbop. So, there!

It's no secret that I am an ardent fan of stripes and lace--so, as you'd expect, the two of them together goes straight to the heart. I found an amazing sweater like the one above here.
