outfit inspo

While the Spring 2014 runways are dishing out compelling new trends to try (tea-length skirts! peekaboo lace! oversized jewels!), I've also been looking off-runway for inspiration on what to wear this very minute. I rounded up my favorite looks of fashion show-goers in New York, London, Milan and Paris and compiled a wishlist of wardrobe-revolutionizing pieces I'd like to own. It includes the cozy Acne sweater, above, and the Alexander Wang structured pencil skirt to go with (or this one by Tibi).

Also on my list is a white lace skirt that I will most definitely wear with a simple grey sweatshirt. So easy. So chic.

More skirts! Printed ones have the power to pull together an entire outfit. I'm swooning over the floral Christopher Kane skirt, above, and also eyeing this leopard print Whistles and this printed fur Topshop.

A slouchy V-neck sweater is the perfect foil to a deeply feminine A-line skirt. J.Crew makes the best ones in grey and cream that are currently 25% off. And how excellent are those rich burgundy ankle boots? Yes, please! Love these Brian Atwood booties and these everyday ones by Rag & Bone.

The imminent chill requires a bold chunky-knit sweater or two. And the louder, the better. I like these guys from Tibi (similar to above), Proenza Schouler, and  Tory Burch. I'm also smitten with the chunky but not so brash Theory knit.

Where is the gray skirting the top picture from?

Yes, I've been looking for a good chunky knit. Do you think ones from H&M or Zara are poorly made?

Loving the lace skirt+sweatshirt combo.

Anyone know the maker of the black sandals paired with the leopard skirt? That looks like the perfect heel height for me!

Marlien,
I wrote a comment this morning. I am not sure if it was received. Suffice to say, your taste is exquisite! The monochromatic outfit (first photo) is stunning! Do you know who makes the skirt? The shoes? The shoes look a bit like G. Rossi. Love the look and your taste!

Thank you,
L

The grey skirt in the first picture is by Alexander Wang. You can find it at this link

The shoes are by Designers Remix, a Danish brand.

I am loving all of these looks. The lace skirt and sweatshirt is such a great look I would never have put together but would love to. Does the lace skirt in the picture have a black underlay? What shoes would you wear? A simple black patented leather pump?

I'm crazy about fancy skirts with sweatshirts. It's such a relaxed, chic look.

Marlien,
Do you know who actually makes the burgundy suede ankle boots photographed with the slouch v-neck? They are beautiful!
