lace-up sandals

A few weeks ago I scored a pair of vintage mint-condition Yves Saint Laurent lace-up heels from the '70s and I literally have been trying to wear them everyday since! Okay, so they're 86ed for walking my kids to school, but they are more versatile than one would think, and the proof is in these pictures, above and below. You might just be tempted to try this sexy leg-climbing shoe, yourself, whether with jeans or a dress. And, if that's the case, here a few options from Gisuseppe Zanotti (featured above and directly below), a leg-lengthening Aquazzura, and an out-and-out alluring Jimmy Choo.

I love the look of these, but the cost per wear isn't quite there for me! I wonder if there is a less expensive (i.e. under $500) option out there...?

I curse you! Now you've done it. Is there a budget friendly version?

I had a hot pair of lace up red sandals about 10 years ago and I loved them but I couldn't deal with the pain. I have a pair of lace up cage sandals that resemble these which I have lived in for the past two summers. Looking forward to bringing them out again soon!D

Marlien, any idea who makes the skirt in the last photo?

The skirt is definitely from a few seasons ago, but I don't know who designed it. Will try to track it down.

Do you know what brand the sandals second from the bottom are? The pic where the woman is wearing a skirt with a black turtle neck? Also love your blog!

I don't know where they are from, but if I find out, I will post it here.
