mar

You know how much I love to shop (and shop and shop)--hence LE CATCH!--but sometimes what I'm looking for is nowhere to be found. So, I've decided to occasionally design those elusive, much-wanted pieces! Introducing MAR, a line of limited-edition clothing I need this moment, this season and years beyond. Up first: this tassel-trimmed bell-sleeved dress, which I can wear breezing around Malibu or pounding the streets of Manhattan. It's lined with shorts, so I can bend over to pick up one of my kids, if need be. The bell sleeves I like to push up during the day, and the lambskin belt sleekifies it further. In my world, it's a perfect dress, a jack-of-all-trades, something I can wear again and again and every time make a chic statement. It also comes in gorgeous cream, which I also love. I hope you love them too!

the red boot

If I could only buy one thing to update my fall wardrobe, it would be a pair of red boots. Since they appeared on almost every major designer runway, these hot-hued boots are poised to take over city streets. I love how they add a jolt to pretty much any outfit, compliment both jeans and fancy dresses and step through day and night. My favorite ones are by Balenciaga (above), Topshop, Isabel Marant, Zara, Stuart Weitzman, and Gianvito Rossi.

everyday, elevated

My newest pair of everyday jeans are far from ordinary, courtesy of a grosgrain tuxedo side stripe and button fly. Also extraordinary: the flattering, suck-everything-in, stretchy-comfy fit. You can find these Veronica Beard jeans here and in a different color here!

colorful copenhagen

Copenhagen's mid-August Fashion Week always provides a sneak peek into fall's coming styles, and as these pics reveal, we're in store for a bright future! Neon hues and eye-popping prints reigned outside the shows, with electric greens, reds and blues dominating. Some opted for head-to-toe bold, while others elected for a single pop. I gravitate toward the latter, and would be happy to execute this trend with any of these pieces by H&M, Tibi, J.Crew, Topshop, Free People, Dodo Bar Or, and Pixie Market.

chill pill

ganni street style

For me, the only appealing thing about fall's imminent chill is staving it off in this hand-knit Ganni sweater. It seems others can't even wait till official sweater weather hits as they're busting it out now in myriad vibrant hues. I'd like to get in early (before they're all gone) on this "it" sweater in wear with everything sky blue.

slip sliding away

You know it's high summer when everyone shows up to a work meeting wearing some sort of toe-baring footwear. That was the case for me yesterday, and there were even rubber slides in the mix! I'd love to dip my tootsies into these comfy slides by Gucci, above, Vince (fall-worthy!), Opening Ceremony, and Adidas.

wowie kauai

Aloha! Just back from Kauai, where I spent most of my time neck-deep in the ocean. Between all the swimming and snorkling, I scouted some swimsuit shops (because, duh, Hawaii is bikini mecca!) and returned home with three amazing new suits. Perhaps, not coincidentally, they're all by Frankies Bikinis, which specializes in the kind of splash-making details I appreciate, such as the crochet trim on the floral one-piece, above. I also snapped up this vibrant bikini and this sexy suit in black!  For more pics, check out my Instagram @marlienrentmeester

shoulder on

Just the thing to help me maintain my endless summer state of mind: a gorgeously flowy $88 dress!
