my spring jacket

No wonder everyone wants this Veronica Beard jacket for spring. It's cotton, designed to layer, and reversible! And crazy cute!

boden hour

I was delighted to discover Boden's new summer drop: a surprisingly good, spot-on mix of fun, bohemian prints with an Elder Statesman meets Lemlem meets La Double J vibe! Case in point: this ruffle dress, this striped maxi, this palm print cashmere sweater, this vibrant shirt dress, and this floral mini!

rad ref

Right after I mistook a friend's Reformation top, above, for Khaite at a party the other night, I bee-lined online to buy one, but alas, it's sold out in black, so I bought the white version that will get me through summer and then some!

bling it on

Call me crazy, but I think the best time to bust out the bling is with a bikini. It's so unexpected! Plus, it can distract from, um, other shortcomings! Most importantly, I paid to play, right? Of course, I'm talking rocks within reason. I love Rocky Barnes' mix of Marysia scallops and a Brent Neale multi-stone mushroom.

veja x marni

No surprise that the just-launched Veja x Marni sneakers are running out of stock fast! You can still find sizes here and here! Marni reinvents Veja's minimalist silhouette with playful, hand-crafted looking scribbles, and the result is a statement sneaker for the books. Bonus: they're environmentally friendly: the soles are crafted from 31% Amazonian rubber, 22% rice waste, and 12% recycled rubber, and the laces are 100% recycled polyester.

who's who

marlien coliena rentmeester

The other day I showed my kids a photograph of my identical twin sister and me celebrating our 5th birthday. I asked them if they could identify me in the picture. And neither of them could! I was astonished, to say the least! Now, I wonder if they'd be able to discern who's in the above picture. Making it trickier: we both have the same St. Roche sweater and JW Anderson dupes by Zara. What do you think?

a lot of ulla

ulla johnson minorca suit

This Ulla Johnson swimsuit ticks every box for me: sexy, flattering, statement-making, and beach-to-street versatile (below). Plus, the batik print speaks to my heritage. So, what more could I want? Perhaps the jumpsuit version as well (last pic)?! With a blazer, sneakers or sandals or heels--or all on multiple and myriad occasions! So much to love! Happy Weekend, you all!

short and sweet

frankie shop lui shorts

The must-have Frankie Shop shorts-and-shirt set that sold out several times over last summer are back--and even better. Made with organic cotton, the boxer-inspired bottoms and throw-on-and-go crisp tops come in a new vibrant array of colors and stripes! I'm leaning toward the endlessly versatile neutral combo, below, which I'd also sport separately, of course. Pick your favorite here!

more stripes

All of sudden I need not one multiple-striped shirt, but three! The Banana Republic, above, needs to be worn exactly as shown (unbuttoned with a lariat necklace!). The crisp-looking one immediately below comes from Mango, and the last one is by Gap, which I envision wearing over this sexy cut-out Zara bathing suit, for some reason. All super cute.

tuesday treasures

Dressing up denim requires deft styling, but even more critically, the right pair of jeans! Lisa Aiken, above, sold me on the high-rise, flair-leg (stiletto-friendly) Slverlake jeans, which I scored on sale at Shopbop today! FYI: there all kinds of spring finds up for grabs (at up to 70% off), including this print Love The Label mini, this Citizens of Humanity belted jean jacket, this sexy Significant Other maxi, this fun Farm Rio dress and these must-have Isabel Marant clogs. Shop it all here!

Before you pack up and head out for spring break, I recommend you make a pit stop in another warm-and-sunny-clothing paradise--A.K.A. The Outnet! I just stocked up on loads of easy, breezy resort-ready pieces at up to 50% off, such as this billowy one-shoulder Zimmermann, this sexy Anemos strappy leopard-print bikini, this M Missoni crochet-knit midi dress (that will crush NYC summer too!), this head-turning Eres one-piece, this do-it-all Melissa Obadash wrap skirt, this vibrant striped Sea Folly shirt/cover-up, and these lace-up Ancient Greek Sandals. Trip out on all the hot goods here!

wedding wear

A best friend's wedding in mid-April is already giving me some what-to-wear-anxiety. To begin with, it's not just a one-night celebration; it's a three-night affair in Islamorada, Florida! Which means I have to dress to the nines, three times over! What's made the carry-on cut thus far: the under $200 Astr The Label cut-out dress, above, along with this Staud halter and this frilly and fun Rixo. As for the perfect wedding-guest dress, I'm contemplating this La Double J, this Rebecca Vallance, this Red Valentino (55% off!), this Paco Rabanne and this Zimmermann. Truth be told, I want them all!

the in-between jacket

We may be springing forward this weekend (daylight savings begins on Sunday!), but it's still jacket weather out there. Jacket being the key word! I'm hanging up my winter coat and  freshening things up with lighter, layer-friendly outerwear. Like with this Banana Republic leather oversized shirt, similar to the vibe, above, or these by Gucci, Self Portrait, H&M, Anine Bing, Sandro, Good American (below), Mango, and Ganni.

my mini

$495, netaporter

This mini has major spring break vibes!

1. Alice & Olivia mini dress, $495, netaporter.com

2. Poppy Lissiman sunglasses, $120, shopbop.com

4. Balenciaga bag, $795, mytheresa.com

on line

Spring has even more stripes in store, but what makes them fresh this time around is that they're anything but straightforward. Toteme, Celine (above) and Chloe are leading the way, inspiring these options from H&M, River Island, and Mango, all below. Plus these statements from Veronica Beard, Cos, Free People (below) and Banana Republic (last pic).

seasoned style

From the look of things, Paris' unpredictable pre-spring weather is not undermining fashion's most seasoned wardrobes. Not even a little bit: show-goers are weathering the fluctuating temperatures (between the '30s to '60s!) seamlessly and stylishly in tweed jackets, lightweight coats, knee-high boots, outfit-punctuating neck scarves and lots and lots of denim. And, oui, I want it ALL, starting with a Chanel-spirited tweed (this, this, this and this), throw-on cardigans (H&M, And Other Stories, and Khaite, second to last pic), bold bandanas (Acne Studios, pictured below), and transitional jackets (Ganni, Mango, and, below, the toggle/sherpa Af Agger).

P.S. This is my definition of chic Paris Fashion Week denim!

la ligne

marlien rentmeester

It's always fun hosting my New York-based friends in LA--but even more so when they design super cute clothes and bring them my way. Last week Meredith Melling, founder of La Ligne, unveiled her spring collection for me and my LA peeps and we swooped it all up, from the signature striped knits to the do-it-all dresses. Herewith some of my favorite looks: the zip-up (or down) Selby dress with a striped cashmere cardigan, above, capped off with my new Iris & Ink boots. Plus: the printastic dresses: the puff-sleeve, the halter (last pic) and green spaghetti strap.

so french

adenorah style

Living up to her quintessential French girl rep, Anne-Laure Mais is winging Paris Fashion Week in classic stripes and ooh-la-la-sexy straps. The juxtaposition is thoroughly je-ne-sais-quoi chic-- and yet easy to achieve with an oversized blazer like this or this,
peek-a-boo tops to wear underneath (Self-Portrait, Zara, H&M), striped knits (La Ligne, ba&sh, Alex Mill), forever-chic Levi's jeans, and a corduroy trench.
