In the mere 30 minutes of shopping time I had over the weekend in New York City, I snapped up this insanely elegant, vintage-looking gem. (FYI: I sized down for a more form-fitting look, and I am also going to switch out the lining for a nude slip.)

All the stuff that makes up my fall-to-winter dressing dreams are up to 40% off for three days only at Shopbop! Having just weathered some legit cool weather in New York, I now know what I really want and need, including this checkered C/MEO Collective coat (it's true, this season, a solid one feels kinda boring!), this chic cashmere layer-with-everything Vince hoodie, these wardrobe-updating knee-high Stuart Weitzman boots (I also like these sock-like ankle booties), and this statement-making waterproof Courreges jacket to wear under pea coats, trench coats, etc. Quick! Shop the whole sale here!
Yesterday I went shopping at one of my most favorite (secret) spots: my mother's closet! Lucky for me, I unearthed a striking Salvatore Ferragamo cashmere plaid blazer from the '80s that looks so right now spot on. For my mom, it was an unerringly chic topper that she used to wear to work. For me, it will be something I sport both on and off-duty with everything from jeans to dresses. I highly recommend you get your hands on one too for the season. I like these options from Rebecca Minkoff, L'Agence, And Other Stories, Isabel Marant Etoile, Gap, and Rouje (above).
Anyone wanting to press the fall wardrobe refresh button should beeline it to Shopbop's sale, flush with stellar finds, including the easy-to-layer-for-winter Keepsake dress, above, this Tory Burch trench coat, these black Schutz ankle boots, these Alice + Olivia sailor pants, and this forever-stylish Anine Bing blazer. Check it all out here!

My blood may have thinned from living in LA, but trust me, the cold is real in New York City right now. Thank goodness for this season's long cardigan. I stole one from my sister's Tribeca apartment closet and wore it all weekend long! Not only is it a great layering piece and endlessly versatile, but it's also, most importantly, super cozy. I'd happily weather winter in any of these options by Kule (pictured, above), Miu Miu (last snap), Brochu Walker, J.Crew, Gucci, Vince, and Ganni.
People, I kid you not when I say I have found the holy grail of white t-shirts! This rare gem, pictured above, by The Reformation, is silky soft, slightly sheer (in a refined way), perfectly-cut, and infinitely versatile. And it's actually a bodysuit, which keeps it from untucking and looking sloppy. I am also not kidding when I say I snapped up two of them because I can't wash them fast enough! I plan to keep wearing them well into winter with these Veronica Beard leather pants, this Ganni wrap skirt, and this sharp wool Mango blazer. (P.S. My monogrammed phone case, which always rakes in compliments, is from Minnie and Emma.
This sequined statement arrived just in time for my trip back to NYC this weekend (hello, high school reunion!) It's seriously insane--and bound to go in a blink of an eye!
Yesterday afternoon I was reminded how chic (read:
essential) leopard print heels are at--of all places--my son's flag football game. A CEO friend of mine had on a pair that seductively/successfully meowed from the sidelines.

Found: the slouchy, goes-with-everything, you-never-want-to-take-it-off, cozy tutleneck sweater! For those who could use more than one (me!), it comes in six different colors, plus costs under $150. I like the fall-perfect terracotta, above, as well as the indispensable black. (P.S. The cute leopard print slip skirt can also be found here.)
Faux fur will be once again flying this winter, but this time it's all about its likeness to the real thing. The length is also short and sweet--wearable with both dresses and pants. I'm in! And could cozy up in any of these versions from Staud (below, on sale!), Topshop, And Other Stories, J.Crew, and Nili Lotan.
My father is going to be honored for his work at a fancy gala in New York in a few weeks, and I might just steal some of his spotlight by showing up in this sparkly wonder! (P.S. I don't think he'd mind! P.P.S. This will also set the holiday party circuit alight!)

I gotta say Pixie Market is making fall dressing look effortless yet extra chic--in other words, so up my alley. (P.S. This is not a paid post--just the plain old truth!) Any of these outfits would have me up and running, without a fortune spent or pre-work brain damage. And I love how you can them piecemeal, too, both on and off-duty. What more can you want? Shop it all here. And, oh, in the spirit of super versatile clothing, how good are these perfectly-cut, wear-everywhere AGOLDE jeans and cashmere H&M joggers? Yes, please!
Well into fall, floral dresses are still blooming everywhere, and I'm going to keep wearing mine with wintry midi/knee-high boots, such as these, these and these. Recently, I snapped up this Asos floral dress, this Mango (Marni-ish) midi and this byTimo lace-trimmed gem. I'd also love to add into my rotation these lovelies from Le Superbe, BB Dakota (with a oversized black blazer over it), and Self Portrait. P.S. The dress/boot combo might just be the easiest get-up-and-go-chic uniform of all time!
I love downtown New Yorker Maryam Nassir Zadeh's lace-up pump--a cool update on a closet classic.

An indoor blazer that also works as an outdoor jacket is a rare and special breed--exactly the kind my wardrobe needs. I'm crushed that the And Other Stories one, above, is sold out in my size, so I searched for other viable versions that will come in handy when I travel to Rome in a few weeks (when the average daily temperature is 62 degrees). So far, I've come across these hard-workers from Ganni, Isabel Marant Etoile, Stella McCartney, and Madewell. P.S. Love how this kind of jacket not only does double duty, but carries the whole outfit!
When I was a little girl, I would play dress-up in my mother's clothes, most of which were by Anne Klein, and pretend I was a sophisticated woman. So, you can only imagine my delight when the editors at Harper's Bazaar and Shop Bazaar asked me to "dress up" in the best and still chic vintage Anne Klein clothing for a photo shoot this past summer. To celebrate the brand's 50th anniversary, they've curated an amazing assortment of office to off-duty pieces that are eternally stylish--i.e. would fold seamlessly into my wardrobe. You have to check it all out here!
I'm clearly on a sweater kick, and this pic taken yesterday of Parisian designerJeanne Damas in a Miu Miu oversized cardigan is further fueling my obsessive flames. I. MUST. HAVE. IT! (The cardi can also be found here and in light blue, here.) P.S. How good is this whole outfit? Just goes to show the power of a good shoe (her boots can be found here) and an investment statement bag. Jeanne's bag is also by Miu Miu, but others like this Gucci, this Isabel Marant, this vintage Dior and this vintage Chanel, would also knock it out of the park!
You know that high you get when you receive multiple compliments on your outfit? Well, I was high as a kite last night, because boat loads of people were gushing over my metallic Haney blouse, above, and also proud, because my blouse was designed by my bestie Mary Alice Haney! What's more, she just opened a pop-up store at the Brentwood County Mart in LA with Adina Reyter (truly my favorite kind of blingy everyday jewelry) and Tyler Ellis, whose gorgeous velvet bag is perched next to me, above. If you're in the hood, I suggest you pop in before it closes on October 15! P.S. I might just be wearing this top for the next month straight. I love it so much!
Oh, yes, sweater weather, bring it on. I'll be just fine in this!

Paris Fashion Week is featuring legs for days--on and off the runways with Celine, Valentino, Isabel Marant, Stella McCartney all showing short, way-above-the-knee dresses for Spring 2019. Attendees jumped right on board with their still summer-tanned limbs, and now I'm thinking of doing the same while I still can with any of these cuties from Keepsake, Tanya Taylor, Isabel Marant Etoile, Haney, and Rebecca Taylor.
Knits are not ordinary this season, and this embellished cardigan is a prime example. I love its oversized shape, sparkly buttons and handy-dandy pockets.

I like to joke that my husband dresses like a quintessential Californian teenager: surf trunks, a t-shirt, and black Vans. But it's no joke that it was he--along with a spate of street style snaps (above and below)--who inspired me to buy my very own pair of Vans. Which I've been wearing in my own New York native way (below)!
