seemingly celine

When my interior designer friend turned up at an event yesterday wearing the most gorgeous ruffled-trimmed wrap skirt (similar to the Celine version above and below, but slightly shorter), I had to know: where did she get it?? "L'oeil," she responded. "My new secret source." I pulled out my cell phone and bought it on the spot for $126. I have a feeling this will now be our communal secret source!

storets statements

The fashion gods have just given me a hall pass to wear jeans all fall long, thanks to some divine intervention from Storets. This just-discovered online source is stocked with jeans-enhancing statement tops that are almost absurdly affordable, including the striped blouse, above, which I just snapped up for $69. Other amazing options, all under $100, include the retro-print shirt (below), this tie-waist blouse, this bow-trimmed top,  and this embroidered blouse.

the camo jacket

Warning, fashion warriors: camouflage is poised to invade our wardrobes this fall! The militant print is currently dominating in London and Milan, as evidenced in these street style snaps. Consider taking up arms immediately in these versions by Rag & Bone (pictured above), Asos, Reclaimed Vintage, Topshop, Off White (second pic, below), and Forever 21.

boho beyondo

LA may be in the (101-degree!) throes of Indian Summer, but even when the temperature drops, I still won't be hanging up my beachy bohemian blouses. As this Milanese fashionista proves, these tops transition seamlessly into cooler temps with a fall-ready velvet blazer, like this or this, (her is by Saint Laurent) and jeans. I'd also team by boho tops with these chill-proof pieces my J.Crew, Vince, Etoile Isabel Marant, Madewell, Figue, Scotch and Soda, and Amanda Uprichard.

knits now

On the subject of statement sweaters, my fall wardrobe would not be complete without a new one--or three! I love how they instantly crank up my default jeans-and-boots combo and keep me stylishly warm. Lauren Santo Domingo, above, proves my point exquisitely with her Jacquemus bow-embellished turtleneck, and Marina Larroude, seconds it with an embroidered Gucci. One doesn't need to spend a fortune on a standout knit though. Take for instance, these by Style Stalker, H&M, Maison Scotch, Whistles, Asos, Madewell, and T by Alexander Wang.

ulla johnson spring/summer 2017

On the last night of my girls trip to Croatia this past summer, a friend trotted out the cutest/most flattering pair of white Ulla Johnson overalls that sent the other eight of us into a must-buy-too frenzy. As soon as I returned to the States I searched high and low for a pair, but alas, they were sold out. Well, I'm going to lick that still festering wound today by pre-ordering from Ulla Johnson's Spring 2017 collection, chock full of must-have pieces, including the ruffled top, above, and the striped dress, below. I also love this open-back jumpsuit, this crochet dress, and this ruffle midi.

tee up

The graphic t-shirt trend that swept New York (see last four pics) has evidently sailed across the pond to London Fashion Week. Attendees are capitalizing on the tee's quick and easy ability to hip-ify any outfit, often making it the focal point. I'm game to follow suit with any of these t-shirts from The Deep End Club (above photo), Baja East (pictured in second to last pic), Daydreamer, Madeworn Rock, CHRLDR, Saint Laurent, Thrasher (third to last pic), and Stella McCartney.

social season

The September swirl has my social calendar kicking into high gear, with an upcoming slew of swanky events. Some of them will require my out and out finest. Naturally, I thought I'd look into a few new dresses that will take me straight through the hectic holiday party circuit. As of this minute, I'm totally smitten with these by Haney (above), Diane Von Furstenberg, Keepsake, Self Portrait, Zimmermann, Marissa Webb, Zara, and The Reformation.
