sweater goals
Thursday, December 29To get to lunch at 10,900 feet above sea level the other day I sported five layers plus my ski jacket. But once inside the restaurant I only needed/wanted just one cute, cozy sweater! Something like the chunky knit, above, or these by BP (30% off!), MiH Jeans, Perfect Moment, Brochu Walker, Rebecca Taylor, Mango, and Ganni.
green christmas
Friday, December 23After spending some time in the Wyoming snow this past week with temps dipping to twenty below zero (check out the surreal looking frozen trees behind me below), I'm now dreaming of a green (read: warm and sunny) Christmas. Or even better: a long and relaxing post-holiday tropical getaway, where I can breeze around in pieces like this Zulu & Zephyr bikini (pictured above), this Balenciaga straw tote, these eye-catching Illesteva sunglasses, this striped Rye swimsuit, this Mystique clutch, this Dodo Bar Or embellished blouse, this Style Mafia tee, this Lisa Marie Fernandez mini, this Mara Hoffman flare top, and this vivid Rhode Resort dress. Merry, merry!
jingle bells
Wednesday, December 21This turtleneck sweater not only jingles my bells, but ramps up my sloppiest throw-on-and-go jeans! Okay, the Gucci pumps help, but still this knit, priced under $100 is a no-brainer ticket to toasty chic.

Love that this knit, pearl-studded envelope clutch could be mistaken for Chanel and yet rings in at a mere $60!
last minute gifts
Monday, December 19I am a huge fan of New York-based accessories brand Loeffler Randall, so when they asked me to put together a holiday gift guide, I jumped! Last minute shoppers, take note for the list includes the amazing day-to-night lace-up heels, above, as well as the sharp metallic mules, below. Check it all out here.

stocking stuffers
Friday, December 16In between binge watching The Fall at night (I'm hopelessly addicted!), I've been shopping online for gifts, big and small. So far, my stocking stuffer game is particularly strong and so I'd thought I'd pass along a few of my favorites. They include this cute pom pom-topped Zara hat, these all-natural, handmade, chic-as-can-be striped soaps by Wary Meyers, these Target mason jar shot glasses, this iPhone lens attachment (for all the budding and professional photographers in my family), these quick fix under-eye pads from Tracie Martyn (which have been helping me look like I'm not watching late-night disturbing shows!), this fun card game, this forever meaningful Draper James frame ornament (my sister gives me these every year with my kids' pictures inside), this By Terry Lip Baume (#bestever) and my current page-turner Love Warrior.
holiday dressing
Thursday, December 15The unexpected combo of a slouchy sweater and over-the-top statement earrings is my kind of high/low mix. It's also a sneaky way to stay super comfy without sacrificing style. Try this trick with these blingy beauts from Mercedes Salazar (pictured above), J.Crew, Elizabeth Cole, Lulu Frost, Deepa Gurnani, and Stella McCartney.

secret santa
Tuesday, December 13Santa's elves tipped me off that Shopbop is clearing out loads of gift-worthy goodies at up to 65% off. Highlights include the above faux fur jacket by Mother, which I almost stole off my friend's back the other day. Other under-the-tree options: this Ulla Johnson embroidered top, this vintage Chanel charm bracelet, these lace-up Tibi heels, this NYE-ready Jonathan Simkhai dress, these, these versatile Loeffler Randall sandals, and this ultra feminine Diane Von Furstenberg maxi.
feather fantastic
There aren't many cardigans out there that can swing into work then proceed to party the night away, but this feathered Banana Republic does all that--and, I bet, even more! I also love that it's fancy enough to layer over a fun dress yet chill enough to pair with jeans.
holly, jolly
Monday, December 12Holiday parties and festive dresses typically go hand in hand, but this year I've been enjoying some more casual jean-friendly soirees, including an alfresco dinner party I hosted last week with my sister and Gwyneth Paltrow. See pics here. The party trick is to dress up the denim, of course, which I did with a pair of Chanel slingbacks and an old embellished H&M sweater. I'd like to stay on this party train with more holly, jolly denim-enhancing pieces from Emerson Thorpe, Roland Mouret, Georgia Alice, Isabel Marant, Rebecca Minkoff, and Gucci.

high jeanne
Thursday, December 8I thought I had the high-waist jean situation nailed in my wardrobe (with pairs by J.Crew, Eve, and Citizens of Humanity), but then these pics of French designer Jeanne Damas convinced me more colors are in order. Tout suite! The ones she's wearing are here, here and here. I also like these options from Topshop, Rachel Comey, and A.P.C.

sea stripes
I love how this Sea top is all striped business up front and seriously happening party in the back! The unexpected lace-up detailing and eyelet shirting takes it to next level.
the marlien dress
Wednesday, December 7If you missed out on getting a LE CATCH xo Haney dress before they sold out, you'll be happy to know that designer Mary Alice Haney took the same cut and and did another run for her label, this time rendered in amazing holiday (both the merry and getaway kind) fabrics, from cotton pinstripe, above, which I'd throw over a bathing suit, to red silk, spot on for champagne swilling till the wee hours. Enjoy them all here!

hoodie hybrid
Tuesday, December 6This Topshop coat, complete with a built-in hoodie, makes layering up for a frosty winter day simply stylish. One and done! P.S. In case you've got the coat part down, but need a hoodie, check out this extra special one from J.Crew, lined with super soft shearling. Warning: you might need to pry it off as it's so comfy!
party hearty
Monday, December 5Holiday partying officially kicked off last week with my friends at GOOP, who hosted a gorgeous dinner party to celebrate the LA opening of GOOP Gift. The pop-up store, open through December 24, features a masterful (and far-reaching) curation of GP's go-to's, from Andrew Hughes hand-blown wine glasses to Moon Juice Brain Dust. You can check out the full assortment here. NYC-based chef Mario Carbone treated us to a delicious Italian feast finished off with post-dinner chestnuts and s’mores. While mostly everyone dressed up in winter-appropriate head-to-toe black, I opted for this white Style Mafia top and this Veronica Beard navy blazer. I rather enjoyed standing out from the crowd, color-wise, and would do so again in festive tops like these from Solace London, Proenza Schouler, Petersyn, Needle and Thread, Cynthia Rowley and Diane Von Furstenberg. P.S. You can see more pics from the party here.

dear santa 2016
Friday, December 2What I love most about my seven-year-old's Christmas list this year are his postscripts to Santa Claus (above). Because they're brimming with innocence and faith. Plus a little lobbying, and it also appears that he has a little more faith in grandma than me?! The bottom line is it's positive thinking at its purest. (Meanwhile my fourth grader reported this morning that he used Google Earth to scan the entire North Pole looking for Santa's headquarters and found nothing. Hmmm...) All this gift-getting anticipation has me thinking about what I'd like Santa to bring me. For starters, I'd love this new cookbook from my friend/fellow blogger Virginie Degryse, who specializes in super tasty and healthy family meals. Everyday bling would also be welcome in the form of these Sarah Chloe personalized rings (I'd put my kids' names on them), this Yvonne Leon diamond and opal earring and this Anne Sisteron rose gold bracelet. I'm bananas about this mid-century light fixture, which I'd like to hang over my dining table and this piece of eye-popping art from Kindah Khalidy. I'd love to take this Johanna Ortiz blouse and this Splendid one-shoulder tee on my next tropical getaway. And this killer new Proenza Schouler bag to go with. Honestly, I'd be psyched with just one of these presents, but you know, there's always positive thinking...
