french flats

My twin sister just came back from Paris with some brand new and very French Repetto pointy-toe ballet slippers that are now pretty much glued to her feet. Now I want to go Gallic, too, with these $25 summer-ready Asos slingbacks. How cute are the bow-ties?

dress season

My Memorial Day weekend kicked off with bike-riding through Napa vineyards and ended with backyard barbecuing in Malibu! In between, I paraded around in some fun new dresses, such as the Pixie Market off-the-shoulder, above, and the Heidi Merrick back-baring show-stopper, below. Now that dress season is officially here,  I'd like to continue parading around in this Proenza Schouler (on sale!) this 3.1 Phillip Lim (on sale!), this Isabel Marant (on sale!), this  Sophie Theallet (on sale!), this Lover (on sale!), this Christophe Sauvat, this Rachel Zoe, and this H&M.

P.S. The sale situation at Bergdorf Goodman is seriously bananas (replete with Proenza, Stella, Chloe, et al). Netaporter's half-off sale is also on and definitely worth checking out. Be sure to hit Matches, too!

wedding wear

For those of you hitting the wedding circuit this summer and needing a dress (or three!), or just looking for a party-perfect frock, look no further than the incredible sales happening at Bergdorf Goodman, Moda Operandi, Forward by Elyse Walker, Shopbop and Asos. I scoured all these retailers this morning, thank you very much, and edited the vast assortment to these selects: a few city-sleek wedding-worthy dresses by Self-Portrait, J. Mendel, Josh Goot, Peter Pilotto, Chloe, and Tibi; these beach wedding-ready frocks from BCBG Max Azria, Red Valentino, Camilla and Marc, and Asos; these countryside-party appropriate dresses by DKNY, Marissa Webb, and Rebecca Taylor; and all-around lovelies by Needle & Thread, Saloni, and Rebecca Minkoff.

My picks include this Nili Lotan embroidered top, this floral Myne romper, these wide-leg Mother jeans, these under-$100 super versatile Joe's Jeans sandals, this pastel Rami Brook blouse, and this Adia Kibur snake ring.

on the line

Time to put on those summer stripes! And a good source for new ones would be J.Crew, always chock full of this classic pattern, but especially appealing right now because they're 25% off (along with tons of summer staples!) through May 21. I'd like to earn my stripes in the style department with this lightweight sweater, this popover, this three-quarter sleeve tee and this swimsuit. The discount code is here. P.S. I love the scarf on stripes happening here--very Euro glam!

printed playsuits

If I had to single out a favorite summer trend, I'd go with the printed romper. The reason: it's easy, one-step, heat wave-ready, stand-out-from-the crowd dressing. And there are so many options to choose from right now. Among the best are these from Tory Burch, Diane Von Furstenburg, Madewell, Asos, Faithfull, Thakoon Addition, Basta Surf and Joie. The one pictured, above, is by Stone Cold Fox. This one is similar.

striped straw

This must just qualify as the be-all, end-all beach bag for me, due to its peppy stripes, throw-it-around raffia durability and towel, book and more-accommodating roominess. Oh, and its under-$100 price tag!

summer blacks

I'll admit: it seems counter-intuitive to wear head-to-toe black right now... but it's all I want to do! Maybe it's because everyone else is busting out their whites and florals? Or perhaps it's just because I've come across all these good pics that I am inclined to follow suit. I'd like to start off with the Tibi top, above, then slip into any of these slinky inky dresses by Heidi Merrick (I also love this one), DKNY, Topshop, Issa, Carven, Asos and Chalayan (pictured in second image, below).

big baubles

I'm totally inspired by One King's Lane current feature on statement jewelry, particularly the kind brandishing big honking colorful stones. These cuffs and rings come off as more earthy-chic rather than garish and overdone, and they perfectly suit this season's bohemian mood. Plus, I love how they can spice up pretty much any outfit. I'm especially smitten with these pieces (and their reasonable prices!) by Janna Conner (or this one), Tildon, Isabel Marant (on sale!), Etro, Kenneth Jay Lane, Pablo, Chloe (pricier but so pretty!), Jules Smith, Sole Society and Marni.

going gingham

christian dior resort 2016

Christian Dior's Resort 2016 collection, showcased yesterday in Cannes, France, indicates that gingham--one of this season's trendiest prints--is here to stay. At least for awhile! The checkered print was rendered in every silhouette from peplum tops to shorts to dresses, and sometimes all layered together, which looked especially fresh (above). My current favorite ways to work this perennial print come from 1 State, Tanya Taylor, Draper James, Diane Von Furstenberg and Madewell.

back at it

Chic summer dressing means just the right amount of skin-baring: an exposed shoulder, a little leg, some decolletage. But this season, it's all about the back. I'm inclined to work this trend with these backless wonders by Saylor (similar to above), Stella McCartney (which I recently wore to a Malibu bash!), Giamba, Victoria Beckham, Asos, Club Monaco and Theory.

P.S. You might need a special backless bra like this to pull off these looks!

napa style

An overnight girls' trip to Napa this week provided me with some much needed meditation time, communing with nature, and pajama partying. I also reaped some amazing fashion inspo, thanks to my friends who trotted out their newest spring dresses, fresh-pedicure revealing sandals and sun-shielding hats and sunglasses. All of the finery got me excited for my own warm weather wardrobe --along with key season pieces I now know I need more than ever. They include these metallic Pierre Hardy sandals, this Talitha voile print mini-dress, this margarita-ready Paul & Joe maxi, these spot-on round Ray-Ban sunglasses, these elegant dinner-worthy Veronica Beard shorts, and this embroidered Topshop tunic.

in the loop

While it's time to start to peeling away the layers, the one thing I will keep on is a bold, statement-making lariat. This season-proof accessory will compliment my buttoned-down-to-there blouses, my deep-V dresses, and maybe even a bathing suit! I love these standouts by Madewell, Lanvin, Kendra Scott, and Maria Black.

bardot beauties

I am neither French or going to south of France this summer but I wouldn't mind looking like a French girl in the south of France this summer! Similar to the woman, above, in a strikingly elegant yet effortlessly chic off-the-shoulder dress. A frock that could from a day of seaside frolicking to an evening of Domaine Ott-ing. I searched high and low for some tres jolie, Rivera-ready frocks and discovered these by Tibi, Cynthia Rowley, Topshop, Diane Von Furstenberg, Raga, Caroline Constas, and Miguelina.

P.S. If you're looking to load up on all things summery, scope out Bergdorf Goodman's major sale, chock full of finds like these Manolo Blahnik chain ankle-strap heels, this Rebecca Taylor dress, this Calypso St. Barth beaded tunic, these 3.1 Phillip Lim sandals, and this Vince cargo dress.
