out east

A Saturday afternoon whirl around East Hampton cracked wide open what my wardrobe is lacking: a decadent day dress that seamlessly goes from beach to street. This morning I filled that gaping hole with the embroidered Vita Kin, above, at 20% off! (Just heads up that there are all kinds of wardrobe heroes, along with everyday statement jewelry on sale at Matches!) And while everyone out east is opting for the raffia Loewe, I prefer the leather-trimmed, more-under-the-radar Chloe, below, also on sale!

monday musts

Kicking off this Monday with some must-haves: the mesh (Alaia-inspired) slingbacks, above, from Zara, the appliqué H&M t-shirt and Sacai cable knit bomber, below.

mind the gap

How cute--and essential--are these bib shirts? They're from the Gap and on sale, so I bought them both! Staple stripes, above, and the lace, below, are amazingly versatile: dressed down with denim or polished with tailored trousers!

to the letter

$169, sequin

A new sparkling addition to my necklace party, inspired by Stephanie Covington, below!

pearl pleaser

$148, j.crew

I sized up (to a size 10!) for a more casual, camp-collar shirt vibe to wear with jeans; unbuttoned and cardigan-style over tank tops and slip dresses; and later on, under roomy crewneck sweaters with the studded collar peeking out!

the jackpot

I bought a lottery ticket yesterday to have shot at the $820 million Mega Millions jackpot, the eighth largest prize in history, and while my chances of winning are approximately 1 in 302.6 million, I'm still fantasizing about what I'd buy with all that money! After first making various sizable donations to my favorite charities (Clean Air Task Force, Robin Hood Foundation, Baby 2 Baby, JK Livin), I'd indulge in a few pieces of clothing that I'm currently crazy about but are crazy expensive, such as the crochet Gucci, above and Prada's forever-chic lace slip and poplin midi, below. (Might as well throw in this stunning belted Prada, too, while I am it!) Of course, I'll need shoes to go with, so count me in for the Mary Janes by The Row, last pic, poised to be fall's go-to. Cross your fingers for me!

shoe time

Hailey Bieber

I know it's weird that I keep writing about Hailey Bieber's shoe preferences (see here and here). I don't typically fawn over celebrity style, but Hailey happens to have excellent taste in footwear, and, perhaps more significantly, the sweeping power to ordain the next must-have shoe! She is now prevailing upon me Femme's under $200 barely-there sandals which come in several different shades, all versatile. They are a new staple to her masterfully-edited shoe collection--and now to mine! They can all be found here

of corsica

I found a stairway to heaven! It's located in Corsica, France, thirty minutes outside the bustling port town of Ajaccio, and it connects the sublime green-blue water of the Med with a rustic two-story brick house that I called home last week! At the bottom of this breathtaking staircase, I hopped on a boat that whisked me up north to the dramatic red ochre cliffs of Calanques de Piana, a Unesco World Heritage site, and its surrounding beachside restaurants (Le Casabianca, A Piaghja) as well as to the south for the most incredible snorkeling and moules-frites-ing (Chez Frances)! See all the highlights--and how I styled my way through with just a carry-on--below.

The Mediterranean Sea's 82-degree temperature and brilliant shades of aqua, teal and sapphire blue (all thanks to its high salt concentration) had me swimming oh-so-buoyantly and rotating bikinis from dawn till dusk. I brought these new suits from Ulla Johnson, Marysia, and Solid and Striped

Not only did I sport swimsuits that stood up to all-day sunning and swimming, but also standout jewelry. I'm wearing necklaces, earrings and charms from Adina Reyter, Dorsey and Maison Mayle

I staunchly believe that there's no better lunch spot than one you have to boat to! Every day had me late-lunching on grilled shrimp, langoustine, razor clams, crisp salads and french fries in a sandy seaside spot. My favorite: the open-air A Piaghja in Calvi, above, complete with epic ocean views and an outdoor ping pong table. Next time I go I want to try Maora in Bonifacio, La Casadelmar in Ponte Vecchio, and La Table de la Plage in Domaine de Murtoli.

Truth be told, I didn't wear much in Corsica--just a smattering of swimsuits, lightweight button-downs and throw-on-and-go dresses! Still, I packed plenty of options to choose from including this, this, this and this. Plus, lots of sheer lace dresses from Doen, including the two newbies immediately below.

The
MVP of my Corsica wardrobe? A colorful Cesta sarong, pictured above, that pulled off double duty daily as a cover-up and towel. Sadly, it's back-ordered but this and this will do the same, heavy-lifting trick! Coming in close second: an oversized white button-down by Jenni Kayne thrown over suits and sheer dresses. I also love this airy eyelet one! Critical to my holiday beauty routine was this newly-discovered post-swim conditioning/revitalizing hair spray from Sun Bum, which from now on I will never go island-hopping without!

Every day in Corsica kicked off with a scenic 60-minute bike ride that included a pitstop at a local boulangerie serving up the most divine, out-of-the-oven croissants. Along the way, there were ubiquitous blossoms of pink, white and purple oleander. It was as if the bushes were exploding with fireworks of flowers!

One day we boated up one and half hours to Calanques de Piana, a crystal clear, pool-like inlet accessible through towering narrow rock arches that required expert skippering. Thankfully, we had a skillful boat captain, who navigated the strong currents around the steep cliffs and steered us into small luminescent caves. He dropped anchor to let us jump in and scale the rocks! The awe-inspiring, surreal-like setting reminded me of Land of the Lost or a digitally- enhanced movie scene--truly stupendous. It was beyond cool!

I'll end my vacation chronicle here, descending the heavenly staircase (in a crochet Mango!) as I'm now back in  L.A. reality--yet already plotting to ascend, step by step again one day soon!  Check out my Instagram Highlights for lots more fun snaps.

ankle high

My feet need a vacation--and shoes to go with! I love the beaded Ancient Greek Sandals, above! Meanwhile... the rest of me is already on holiday today! See below! I'm in Corsica and soaking it all in a Valentino top (love this Nili Lotan dupe!), along with this, this and this. More deets to come!

pink pearls

Introducing my new summer stack, anchored in Adina Reyter's pink seed pearls! I love the necklace's opalescence, how it mixes with a sophisticated gold chain link (or anything for that matter!) and the unexpected pop of an added statement charm, specifically the cute ceramic shell that signifies my affinity for the beach and all things sandy and sunny. (I also love the price!) Don't mind me if I keep wearing it through January and beyond! See it up close (along with other beautiful baubles) here.

friday finds

This Friday comes with a robust end-of-the-week info dump! Think of these affordable finds as the ones that almost got away (read: I didn't have time on Monday-Thursday to post!) Let's start with the alluring peekaboo lace top from Anthropologie, above, that would also work swimmingly over a bathing suit and the elegant sequin Frankie Shop t-shirt that will never, ever go out of style (it's a must, in my opinion). It also comes in a chic mini dress version. I also love the bandana-print River Island, the Alaia-inspired Steve Madden ballerinas (for $79!), the floral En Saison, this embellished Asos, this striking Roxanne Assoulin necklace that's made for layering, and these eyelet Natalie Martin shorts. Happy Weekend!

slick slides

Havianas is stepping up its signature flip flop with a new distinctly sophisticated, faux leather, slide-like silhouette. The padded strap yields an edgy coolness but the rubber sole maintains a laid-back vibe. Even though they're called the Milan sandal, I think they'll work well everywhere from Manhattan to Malibu!

stars and stripes

$36, h&m

Low maintenance, high impact for under $40! Done.

1. H&M wrap-skirt dress, $36, hm.com

2. Le Specs sunglasses, $89, shopbop.com

3. Paco Rabanne bag, $920, bergdorfgoodman.com

4. Chloe sandals, $830, netaporter.com

prime time

It's not everyday that the most coveted pair of denim shorts (pictured above) can be had for $25, but it's Amazon Prime Day, which means pretty much everything is possible--and massively on sale. More fantastic finds: these super flattering under-$100 Joe's Jeans, this Apple Watch, this elegant Adriana Degreas statement cover-up and bikini, this excellent everyday Staud dress, these classic white t-shirts from Hanes, and this Bose portable speaker at 30% off.

the big cover up

I have a weird, preternatural tendency to convert all kinds of clothing into beach-ready cover-ups. Chalk it up to my 24/7 proximity to the ocean--or just my penchant for creative styling. Actually, I just think all clothes deserve a day in the sun! Hence my current fondness for lightweight midi skirts such as this (LOVE!) and this that go from sea to street or eyelet dresses (I took the lining out of the H&M, below, to effect sheer and summery). Other versatile wonders: the H&M caftan, below, this stunning Sea, this embroidered Lug Von Siga, this colorful Anna Kosterova, this mini Sundress, this openwork Mango tunic, and this crazy cute floral Asos.

summer set

Not all Mondays are created equal. Summer ones are superior, as they go hand in hand with a casually cool uniform that could entail a pair of long, loose-fitting shorts, but paired with elegant shoes to keep things refined, or a one-and-done Merlette denim dress, below. I'd like to kick off mine in the Mango set, below, or in this mini Cos dress, this floral Rodarte, this Moon River maxi, and this eyelet Rails.

story time

Yesterday I wore an And Other Stories embroidered blouse and was complimented everywhere I went from Erewhon to the Brentwood Country Mart to a Zoom call. Now I'm poised for heaps more praise with the lace billowy-sleeve blouse, above. Everyone will think it's vintage Chloe and I might just let them. ;)
