winter warm up

Perhaps the only downside to this year's never-ending LA summer has been the total lack of opportunities to bust out one's new cooler weather gear. This week the weather finally broke, and a festive lunch with friends yesterday thus offered us the moment we had all been waiting for. Out came the woolens and the knits, the boots and the (faux) fur! The highlights included statement sweaters like this Elizabeth and James, this Figue (on sale!), this Pixie Market and this Isabel Marant (the sweater, above, is by Celine); dramatic midi skirts, like this 3.1 Phillip Lim, this Reformation, and this Tibi; along with sleek, chill-proof cover-ups, including this coat-like cardigan by Theory (styled over the shoulders!), this frayed boucle Topshop jacket and this sleeveless Rag & Bone duster. In spite of being out practice, it looks like we Angelenos are going to have this brisk weather thing down cold!

Hi Marlien! Thank you so much for the heads-up on that Figue sweater being on sale---I just snapped it up. I've had my eye on it ever since you posted that New Year's Eve picture in Aspen. :)
