insta chic

While I've been devouring all the street style images from New York over the last few days, I've also been enjoying the behind-the-scenes outfits and intriguing fashion moments served up via my Instagram feed. I thought I'd share a few of my faves. The photo, above, was taken by model Delfina Blaquier minutes before Diane Von Furstenberg's show started yesterday. I love the fabulous mix of footwear, bare legs, and piles of iPhones (and Mira Duma's leather-clad baby bump!)--and how you can practically feel the anticipation in the air.

This instagram from New York Times Fashion is a good lesson in dressing, for Proenza Schouler's cut out, mixed print dress can be a lot to master, but editor Kate Davidson Hudson, above, demonstrates that it's actually a cakewalk (and a must-have)--even during the day.

Manrepeller blogger Leandra Medine (on the left) posted this snap of herself outside Rosie Assoulin's presentation, decked out in the designers Spring 2015 wares. More evidence that wide pants are back and bigger than ever. My favorite current options include pairs by Tibi, Joseph and Elizabeth and James.

At 3.1 Phillip Lim's show today, Bag Snob Tina Craig spied this cool cut-out bucket bag and declared it would be slung around her shoulder next spring. (Craig has a closet full of Birkins, so this says a lot!) Can't wait till next spring? Consider the right-now cultish (and sold-out-everywhere) Mansur Gavriel.

New York's fashionistas are flitting around town in uptown-to-downtown-friendly flats, from sneakers to sandals. Elle Accessories Director Maria Duenas Jacobs, shares her chic yet sensible choice: python flat brogues by Christian Louboutin.
