the white silk blouse

On Saturday I got reacquainted with a sometimes overlooked wardrobe staple: the white silk blouse. I pulled my newest one out (it's by Bonmot) and teamed it with a pair of jeans and Chanel flats and felt suited to go pretty much anywhere in LA, which that day included lunch at the recently opened LYFE Kitchen (where chef Art Smith churns out creatively healthy, super yummy dishes) followed by a movie (Twelve Years a Slave--compelling but emotionally devastating). As the pics above and below suggest, the white silk blouse should indeed not be forgotten, and I found a few eternally stylish ones including this Theory, this Vince, and this Equipment.

Beautiful and simple - the best combo :). One question, just out of curiosity, is there a reason that you did not include the Equipment Signature silk blouse? I ask mostly because it's on my wish list and I was planning to purchase in the spring...

I love that the Bonmot shirts are made in San Francisco!!! That is exactly why I turn away from Equipment, Theory and the like...all made in China. Thanks for turning me on to a great company!

Love the bag in the first photo; I wonder if it's a DvF Lytton clutch? Nordstrom had a leopard print on sale while back and I am kicking myself for not purchasing it! Do you know of any good alternatives Marlien?

I believe the clutch pictured is a few seasons old but I found some fetching alternatives. Links below:

Hi Marlien
Do you know who makes the blouse in your bottom photo? Great post, I couldn't agree more and recently bought a fabulous one from a line called Etcetera. Thanks!

Marlien, first, I love Le Catch!!!! Seeing this post on white silk blouses, I'm going to start a file of wardrobe essentials for travel. I'd love to see more posts on your ideas for Spring travel/sightseeing in France/Belgium when one must pack lightly.
