going wide

My husband will be quite stoked to read here that wide-leg pants continue their resurgence. You see, he happens to believe that the right pair suits me far better than the skinny jeans I wear...pretty much every day! He does have a point since wide-leg pants can be very comfortable and length-lengthening/figure-flattering. But what's really appealing to me is how fresh and right-this-minute they look. By the way, I think they look best paired with simple, streamlined blouses and sweaters, as demonstrated in the pictures here. I have to say I am pretty inclined to weave them into my weekly rotation--and I'm thinking the husband won't mind one bit should a big box arrive at home packed with these options from Stella McCartney, J. Brand, Adam Lippes, and Topshop! P.S. The printed pants in the last pic are by Clover Canyon.

Yay! I completely agree with your husband that wide leg pants are so much more flattering than skinnies! Does this go for wide leg jeans as well? Are they too having a resurgence?!

So happy the wide legs are coming back. I ordered the Clover Canyon pants you're showing from Shopbop yesterday. I can't wait to feel comfortable again.

I find myself wearing wide leg pants more and more this fall. Yes, they are comfy but also it is a good break from the skinnies.
You should post the few pictures of yourself in wide leg pants. Just for our inspiration. :)

I could not agree more with your husband. Wide leg pants are infinitely more flattering on the vast majority of women. Hurray for a comeback!

My husband feels the exact same way! I love the look in the top photo. Maybe it is time to bust out my old pair.

My husband feels the same (seems this is pretty common!). He hates skinnies on me and prefers a wide leg or boot cut. I do love this style too and have some fabulous wide leg pants I had a number of years and still they look good. I think they are especially flattering with a good heel and not flats.

It's really all about wide-leg trousers right now, more than jeans, but I am sure jeans will soon follow the same wide path!
