beach to street

These filmy ethnic print dresses are exactly the kind of thing I'd throw over a bathing suit (or sport for a post-beach shopping spree in Malibu, East Hampton, Capri, etc.), but now I'm convinced they'd fare just as well in the sweltering city, in a relaxed-glam way, along with the right extras, such as a sophisticated wedge or metallic sandal. The one pictured above is by Mango, which debuted here back in March and is now sold out, sadly!) I'd also like to breeze around in this Free People, or this one, or this one, or this Mes Demoiselles.

I just bought the Mango dress above from Asos and I love it...but it is so see-through! I would love to wear it as a day dress, but who wants to wear a slip under the dress...sort of defeats the purpose of the flowy nature!?!? What to do, Le Catch? How about a post on nice, light little slips that can be worn when things are just too filmy?!?!

I have two dresses that might fit the bill on my Etsy shop called Bop and Awe. One is a turquoise long soft cotton dress in an ethnic print and the other is a soft cotton peach. Either of these dresses could be hemmed up if you prefer short.

the free people penny lane dress is insanely cute! i don't typically dress in bohemian clothes year-round, but during the summer i love getting into the relaxed, beachy vibe.

Do you know who the purse is by in the first pic? Also, why so many postings on items that are sold out?

Commando (available at Nordstrom) makes nice slips.

Any idea where the dress with the fringe is from?
